Through the introduction of numerous updated and new premium seats, services, and amenities, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines aim to enhance the traveller experience.
American said new Flagship Suite premium seats and a revamped interior for the long-haul fleet would be included in deliveries of Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-9 aircraft beginning in 2024.
Customers can expect a luxury experience from the Flagship Suite seats, which also come with a privacy door, a chaise lounge sitting choice, and extra personal storage space. Additionally, the airline is equipping its long-haul aircraft with more specially constructed Premium Economy seats, which offer more privacy and double the amount of in-seat storage.
By 2026, the amount of premium seating on American’s long-haul fleet will increase by more than 45 percent thanks to the installation of new interiors on its planes. 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats will be available on the airline’s Boeing 787-9, while 20 Flagship Suite seats and 12 Premium Economy seats will be available on its Airbus A321XLR.
Additionally, American will upgrade its current Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A321T aircraft to include extra Flagship Suite and Premium Economy seats.
For its part, Delta has announced a revamped Delta Premium Select cabin experience with locally sourced cuisine, luxurious handcrafted accoutrements, and more specialised service touch points.
Beginning on September 20, clients of Delta Premium Select will benefit from a dining experience that has been upgraded and now offers more options with regional flavours. The menu offers dishes like Impossible Meatballs with polenta, pomodorini sauce, and broccolini, as well as roasted beef short rib with fingerling potatoes and dijon green peppercorn jus.
The airline also disclosed that starting in October, it would gradually introduce new handmade amenity packs by Someone Somewhere, which would include Grown Alchemist travel staples and other high-end necessities.
