It includes bags of maximum weight (22x8x10) inches. It may require that carry-on bag travel as a checked bag if it cannot be safely stowed on a particular flight. Spirit passengers can carry one personal item along with them to the flight with no extra charges charged by the flight authority. Small backpacks, laptop bags, and purses are included in it. 18 inches by 14 inches by 8 inches can be the maximum size of the bag. If the weight of the personal baggage exceeds these dimensions, then the person will need to pay additional fees to bring it along.
Spirit Airlines allows 1 personal item per passenger for free. The person is allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in their personal item bag and through the checkpoint. Trave-sized containers are limited to 3.4 ounces or less per item that can be carried by the passenger. It’s very rare for airlines to investigate the size of the passenger’s personal items.

A passenger can carry only those items on the flight which can be carried on a small backpack or a purse so that they can be kept in front of the seat of the passengers and Spirit will charge the passenger additional fees. Fees for Overweight Baggage
When a passenger’s bag weighs more than the specified limit, the airline charges an overweight baggage fee (23 kilograms or 50 pounds). The Spirit Airlines overweight baggage tax for various weight categories is listed below.
- Excess luggage of 18 to 23 kilograms/41 to 50 pounds is $30 USD per item.
- Excess luggage of 23 to 32 kilograms/51 to 70 pounds is $55 USD per item.
- 32-45 kilograms/71-100 pounds: Excess luggage costs $100 USD.
- Bags weighing more than 46 kilos (100 pounds) will not be accepted as checked baggage.
- For the period of December 1st to January 10th, checked luggage on international flights to/from the United States must be less than 23 kilos (50 pounds).
Oversize baggage charges on Spirit Airlines
The spirit airlines excess baggage tax is $100 USD for luggage measuring 158 to 203 centimeters (63 to 80 linear inches) and $150 USD for bags from 203 to 406 millimeters (80 to 160 linear inches). Spirit Airlines will not accept any luggage larger than 406 centimeters or 160 linear inches.
