In order to attract more visitors from California, the Nayarit Ministry of Tourism arranged two presentations in San Diego over the weekend.
On Saturday, September 24, the Mexican state of Nayarit, with its spectacular architecture, beautiful landscapes, nature, and beaches, was presented at the Consulate General of Mexico as part of the Puente a México (Bridge to Mexico) tourism promotion project.
“This is really important for us because it allows us to welcome Californians to live the best experience and admire magnificent landscapes, taste our gastronomy, and enjoy our beaches and emblematic locations,” said Nayarit’s Tourism Secretary, Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., it was a free entry event where thousands of passers-by savoured regional handcrafts, pictures, and traditional clothes.
Nayarit has a stand to display Huichol art, crafts, and textiles in Little Italy’s Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Through exhibitions and regional cuisine and beverage tastings, Puente a México introduced hundreds of San Diegans to Nayarit as an amazing tourism destination.
“We are thrilled to promote Nayarit and its magnificent tourism sites.” For the first time, Nayarit is represented at San Diego’s famous “Farmers’ Market; it is a pleasure to share with San Diegans a little of what our Mexican State represents, highlighting the wonderful history that unites us,” said the Tourism Secretary.
Nayarit displayed handcrafts, pictures, maps, and traditional dress in the “House of Mexico” in Balboa Park on Sunday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Puente a México was officially started on June 25, and prior editions included Baja California and Yucatán.
